Blizzard 1 is a typical T style gun using 1/4-inch pipes.
It uses compressed air coming straight though the T to
the nozzle and water coming in at an angle and turning
with the flow of air to shot out the nozzle. The nozzle
that works the best for this gun is a air filler tool
from a Coleman Powermate air filler tool kit. It is a
tapered hole with a final diameter of 7/64 of an inch. To
control the water flow I have a 3/8 inch ball valve being
feed by a 5/8-inch water hose. This is then goes to
3/8-inch piping. The air is controlled by a 1/4-inch ball
valve and pipe that is feed by a 3/8-hose line with 1/4
connectors. The air goes though the straight part of the
T while the water goes to a 90 degree elbow and then to
the side of the T. the mixed water and air then go to the
nozzle through a 1.5 inch long mixing chamber and exit
the gun mixed together, freeze and fall to the ground.
Blizzard 1 is capable of
producing 1/2 inch per hour in bad conditions of about 26
with 60-70% humidity. It will make more in colder weather
or with a bigger air compressor and nozzle.
